Growing up outside of Chicago I listened to country on WMAQ AM 670
with my dad on a little black transistor radio with that gaudy white ear
plug. Then I found rock n roll. We had the best rock stations around such
as WMET FM 95.5 and The LOOP FM 98. It was around this time that I
really decided to be a rock star. Here began my air guitar career. I took
it to levels that no one had ever seen or heard before.
Life caught up to me and it was a move to Las Vegas. My first
Christmas here I was gifted with a bass guitar. It was the only thing that I
wanted to learn to play. Guitars had too many strings, the crows cawed
when I sang, and there is no way that I would even attempt the drums.
Have you ever tried walking and chewing gum at the same time? I took
lessons from the best guitar teacher in town and I was hooked.
After practicing and rehearsing I was finally willing to go on some
auditions. The first one was nerve racking but I got the job. From there,
who knows how many people I played with trying to live out my dream
and to play live on stage in front of people.
One day my guitar teacher called and asked if I wanted to try out for his
band (I was on him for years to let me join). Luckily, I had already
learned all of their songs and made the cut. I was now in a real live
heavy metal band that had a CD and was ready to tour it. It was soooo
very cool. I was living my dream. We were doing so well with that CD
that we were picked up by Firewall Records in England and we even
made a top 10 chart over there.
My music got me to play in a show in Germany and get to play with
many talented and gifted players here in Vegas.
Then came a hankerin’ for country music again. And look, here we are
doing the Brazo’s thing. We are so looking forward to showing you a
good time, tell stories, and make fools of ourselves just so you can
escape for a while, leave troubles behind, and get lost in some fun and
frolick. Come see us and enjoy!
